Shop for Knick Knacks at the Black Taxi Kitsch Bazaar
• Mumbai-based Bonsai experts Jyoti and Nikunj Parekh will host a two-day exhibition and sale of plants at Babulnath, starting Thursday, June 9. On sale will be a mix of indoor and garden plants such as hostas, bromeliads, succulents, palms, Surinam cherry plants, scheffleras, and evergreen and flowering Bonsais as well as garden accessories like pruning scissors, ceramic pots and decorative figurines. The husband-and-wife duo has also invited their friends to exhibit stationery, saris and jewellery. You can pick up paper products such as gift tags, notebooks, visiting cards, gift boxes and scrapbooks by Temple Tree, block printed saris by Ami Modi and gold-plated silver jewellery by Purvi Dhruv. • Time Out Mumbai magazine and Black Taxi are holding a “kitsch bazaar” at Zenzi this weekend. Eleven emerging city-based designers will sell fashion and home products such as dresses, lamps, jewellery, coasters and magnets. The stalls include those by handicrafts label Matsya (who will sell their colourful, hand-painted bells, lamps and hand-stitched stuffed toys), and design team The Root (they make organic T-shirts, canvas bags and notebooks). You can also buy ethnic kurtis, dresses and tops by a label called Maya, Western tunics and cotton dresses by Memore, embellished bags by Princesse K, funky fridge magnets, coasters and cloth bags by Big Bag Theory and vibrant mal dupattas by UDD.
