The Bandra Beer Fest Returns This Month

• The second edition of the Mumbai International Beer Festival will take place in Bandra on Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28. The festival promises a selection of over 50 beer labels from Germany, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Ireland, England and China (see here for the full selection). At the festival differently priced day passes get customers 60ml samples of beers such as Chimay, Liefman’s, Peroni, Geist, Viru, Leffe, Birra Moretti, Paulaner, Tsingtao, Sol and Corona. At the festival you can also buy 330ml pints of all the listed beers. The food which includes pizzas, bagels, sushi, burgers and spareribs will be catered by Ray’s Cafe and Pizzeria, The Bagel Shop, and Pune-based Lebanese snack joint Cafe Arabia. Passes are priced at Rs500 for individuals, at Rs6,000 for groups of four and five, and Rs8,000 for groups of six. • The Juhu outpost of Mahesh Lunch Home is hosting its annual crab and wine festival. In its 11th edition, the festival menu features 25 crab preparations such as crab laksa; crabmeat and almond shorba; basil oil-spiked tandoori crab; Singapore chilli crab; tender coconut crab masala; Balinese crab curry; and Mangalorean crab curry. OPENINGS
G Cafe, an all-day coffee shop has opened inside Khar clothing store Vinegar. They offer a small vegetarian menu of salads, sandwiches, tarts and desserts. You can choose from egg and chive salad; caramelised pear and candied walnut sandwich; caramelised onion and Gruyere tart; roasted zucchini and eggplant panini; banoffee pie; and tiramisu.

• The second outpost of The Irish House, the pub in Lower Parel, is slated to open in Kala Ghoda in November, in the same building that housed the now shuttered Oriental restaurant Joss.
