Zaffran To Open In Place of Zinc In Lower Parel

OPENINGS
• Zaffran, the Mughlai restaurant chain, will open a new outpost in Lower Parel, in place of Zinc, the nightclub located inside Mathuradas Mills, on Friday, November 2. This sixth outpost of Zaffran occupies 4,700 square feet across two floors. The lower level will have a bar and dining area that can accommodate 60 people and the upper floor will feature two private dining rooms. The menu here will essentially be the same as at the other outposts. You can choose from Zaffran’s signature preparations like butter chicken; mutton biryani; Zaffran phirni; raan masala; and aloo tuk chaat. Mathuradas Mills, next to Blue Frog, Lower Parel.
• Bakery chain Theobroma‘s new express outlet has opened in Lokhandwala. The cafe menu, which includes breakfast items and sandwiches, is the same as at their Pedder Road outpost. However, these will only be available from Monday, October 15. For now, they’re serving bakery items like teacakes, breads, croissants, puffs, lavash, dips, brownies, cupcakes and pastries. BEER TASTING
• Sign up for a beer tasting session on Friday, October 12, from 9pm onwards, at Woodside in Andheri, where you can glug six imported beers—Liefmans Fruitesse from Belgium, Brooklyn Lager from America, Birra Moretti from Italy, Schneider Weisse from Germany, Murphy’s from Ireland, and Fuller’s from London—and learn about the history, types and styles of beer. The Rs995 registration fee gets you a mug of each beer and finger foods such as sliders, beer-battered onion rings, and charred tomato and zucchini mousse. OKTOBERFEST SPECIALS
• The Irish House will host week-long Oktoberfest celebrations starting from Tuesday, October 9. They will serve a special menu featuring currywurst; steak and kidney pie; German potato pancakes; potato salad; and Frankfurter würstchen. The pub will serve Kingfisher Draught beer in beer towers with a capacity of 3 litres priced at Rs1,199 (inclusive of taxes). Until Sunday, October 14.
