The Nakshatra Dance Festival Twirls Into Town

It’s time for the fourth edition of the Nakshatra Dance Festival, an annual event that draws the stars of Indian classical dance. The headliners of the festival, which will take place at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) from Thursday, October 11 to Sunday, October 14, are kuchipudi duo Radha and Raja Reddy, kathak specialist Kumudini Lakhia, Odissi exponent Madhavi Mudgal and bharatanatyam star Alarmel Valli. As a prelude to the event, three upcoming dancers will perform at the NCPA’s Godrej Dance Theatre on Thursday, October 4 at 7pm. Shyamjith Kiran and Viraja Mhandre from Kalakshetra will do a bharatanatyam piece and kathak dancer Anuj Mishra will present the different leelas of Krishna. For the complete schedule, see here.
