Vote For The Best Indian Act At The MTV Europe Music Awards

Now that MTV decided to discontinue the Asia edition of its music awards, it has fallen upon our closest continent to include a Best Indian Act at this year’s Europe Music Awards. The list of nominees is er…eclectic. They include Dimapur-based Alobo Naga and the Band, whose old-school budget clip for their Bon Jovi-esque ballad “Painted Dreams” you might have caught during its multiple airings on one of Vh1’s “India Rules” segments; Indus Creed’s sepia-toned “Fireflies”; Bandish Projekt’s collaboration with Monica Dogra, “Lover”; and Goan singer-songwriter Oliver Sean’s 1980s-recalling “So Good”. Our vote, for both best song and video, goes to menwhopause’s “Easy” for the following reasons: It’s Instagram-y! It’s got air piano! It’s got a cat! It’s got an omelette! (Though, sadly, not a cat eating an omelette.) Watch the video, directed by menwhopause lead singer Sarabjit Chadha, above; and head here to cast your vote for the Best Indian Act. Voting closes on Sunday, October 14. The 2012 MTV EMAs will be held in Frankfurt on Sunday, November 11.
