MB Giveaway: TOMS Shoes

Chances are you may have spotted a discerning friend (or a celeb in a fashion mag) sporting a pair of TOMS shoes—they’re the canvas, espadrille-like loafers that have won accolades for their design. Founder Blake Mycoskie designed them after a trip to Argentina, when he realised there were thousands of children who ran around barefoot. He modelled his rubber-soled version after the Argentine alpargata, and became the poster boy of for-profit philanthropy by donating one shoe to a child in need for every pair purchased. Now, the folks at Moon River, the multi-purpose boutique-cafe-bookstore from New Delhi, will exclusively retail TOMS out of India, selling them in-store as well as through their website Moonriverstore.com (which, also, incidentally, retails the cult French candle brand Diptyque). As a bonus, they’re giving Mumbai Boss readers two free pairs of “glitter” TOMS (see image, bottom centre pairs). All you have to do is send an email to editors@mumbaiboss.com with “TOMS” in the subject line. The last date to enter is Thursday, September 27. The contest is only open to readers in India. The winners will be chosen via raffle and notified directly via email.
