Attend An All-Star Indie Rock Jam

If you’ve passed by the Vero Moda and Jack & Jones on Linking Road on a random weekday and spotted groups of people chatting outside, they weren’t shoppers at some midnight sale that you didn’t know about, but part of the audience at one of the “All Starr Jamm” series of collaborative indie rock concerts organised at the store over the last four months. The inaugural gig, held in May, featured popular musicians such as Shaa’ir + Func, Sidd Coutto and Ankur Tewari performing mash-ups of each other’s songs and a handful of covers. Sadly, the shows, organised by the store with the aid of Sameer “Daddy” Malhotra and Harshad Chavan, were invite-only events, but starting with this month’s edition, which will be held this Wednesday, September 12, they will be open to all. All you need to do is show up and pay the Rs500 entry fee. To sweeten the deal, you also get a Rs500 shopping voucher. The line-up itself, however, might be worth your while: Mohan and Koko, the vocalist and guitarist of popular Hindi rock band Agnee, will team with up singers Shilpa Rao (you might have seen her at Blue Frog or collaborating with the group on The Dewarists), Neeti Mohan (you might remember her from mid-noughties Indi-pop act Aasma), and Aditi Singh Sharma (you might have heard her on such Bollywood soundtracks as Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge).
