First Look At Otto Infinito

Office goers in Bandra-Kurla Complex will get a new breakfast and lunch spot, in the form of Otto Infinito, a casual dining Mediterranean restaurant that opens this coming Monday, August 27. Otto Infinito, as we reported earlier this month, is the new property from Ka Hospitality, the company that brought London’s Michelin-starred restaurants Hakkasan and Yauatcha to Mumbai last year. Otto Infinito, which is Ka’s first in-house brand, is located in the same building as Yauatcha, on the ground floor, to the left of the dim sum restaurant.

From a look at the place and menu, here’s what we can tell you: the focal point of Otto Infinito is its grab-and-go counter, from which customers can pick up packed salads, breads, croissants, Danish pastries, muffins, cold sandwiches, and desserts. The menu for breakfast, which is served until 11.30am, features eggs Benedict, berber tagine omelette (a Moroccan baked egg dish made up of spiced tomatoes and garnished with sliced olives), fresh yoghurt, brun maska, a selection of coffees and special teas (such as pomegranate). You can also order two set breakfasts—the healthy (Rs250) and hearty (Rs275)—that are made up of a combination of eggs to order, fruits, yoghurt, oats, hash browns, sprouts, and a choice of chicken sausages, pork sausages and bacon.

The lunch menu is dominated by salads, sandwiches, and thin-crust pizzas, and offers a few mains such as vegetable tagine, Turkish kebabs, whole wheat pastas and ravioli. Though there is some overlap between the lunch and dinner menus, the latter centers on appetisers and mains including truffle soufflé, tenderloin carpaccio, chorizo ravioli, roast chicken, lobster salad, and grilled Black Angus fillet. From our quick browse through their menu, we gathered that lunch at Otto Infinito could set you back anywhere between Rs600 and Rs1,000 per head, while dinner here is in the Rs1,000 to Rs1,300 range. That’s about the same as what you would pay at an Indigo Deli or at Le Pain Quotidien, both of which have outposts in Bandra.

@Govind Didn’t you hear? There can only be 50 Sukh Sagars in a 1 km vicinity.

What is the obsession with naming every new restaurant here something French, Italian or with quasi-European suffixes ‘-ice’, ‘-izo’ or ‘-ici’? Is it so that we can butcher the pronunciation? Oddo Infinido here I come!
