Saloni Lodha, Surily Goel Release Fashion Films

A fashion film by any other name is an…ad. The medium appears to be the latest trend in the designer world. Following Pernia Qureshi’s After Hours, which released last year, come two new fashion films by designers Saloni Lodha and Surily Goel. Lodha roped in famed German photog Ellen von Unwerth to shoot a mini “foreigner goes to Jodhpur” short, inspired by Jackie O’s trip to India in 1962 (see the video, above). Von Unwerth’s video Jodhpur Jackie, despite the parade of Rajasthan cliches (colour! turbans! camels! forts!) is far more a film than Goel’s, who got man-about-town Mozez Singh to film her arty piece (see the video, below). The latter appears to be an extended promo “starring” Lisa Haydon and set to mood music. What do you think?

the second one is the biggest sham ever! After seeing the credit roll, i am most disappointed to be subjected to this unimaginative crap….calling it mediocre is giving it a compliment!

The second one is boring as hell! Also it’s more like a behind the scenes video. Definitely not a fashion film. Mediocre to say the least.

Really loved the one by Suril. The Lodha one tries too hard to involve the public but doesn’t really show both sides of the scene (in my opinion)
