Swedish House Mafia “May” Tour India This Diwali Season
Update: Swedish House Mafia will be performing in Mumbai and Delhi. More details here.
Is soon-to-disband electronica trio Swedish House Mafia going to perform in India as part of their farewell tour this year? Well it’s a definite maybe. According to a press release sent out earlier this week, the DJ supergroup, comprising Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, “is considering a visit towards the latter half of the year with a single city event in India”. “Sources”, have told the PR peeps who sent out the release—they just happen to be the publicists of EDM-centric event company Submerge—that the last leg of Swedish House Mafia’s world tour “will commence this November, with India being a very strong contender in their touring calendar” because the band has “expressed a desire to visit India during Diwali” and has been in talks with Submerge to “explore this possibility” (itals are ours). In other words, if Swedish House Mafia do grace us with their presence, it will be sometime after November 1 and round about November 13, which is when Diwali falls. Sadly, the press release makes no mention of which single city is likely to be the chosen one, so we’ll have to make do with this tease of an announcement. Submerge has been more forthcoming with the dates of this year’s edition of their annual G0a-based Sunburn festival, which will be held from December 27 to 29, just as it has for the last five years.
