Dhoble To Ease Up On Raids Until Tuesday
If you’re pegging your weekend plans on what ACP Dhoble will be up to, know this: according to this article in Mid-Day, police commissioner Arup Patnaik has supposedly told his pet law enforcer to “cool it” until he returns from his US trip on Tuesday, July 10. Until then, party goers, breathe easy, as Dhoble has apparently conducted only one raid since Patnaik’s departure last Saturday (Dhoble himself spent the past weekend attending a wedding in Pune). And if you’re still feeling the sting of the police’s recent crackdown on our nightlife, then you can sign this petition by citizens’ group Mumbai Unite, which is asking the powers that be to prevent “our state from degenerating into a land without due process where the balance of power has completely tilted against its citizens”.

People are Barking at a Wrong Tree. The Problem Lies in the Licensing Hours by the Excise and the BMC Dept, who are very Coolly keeping Quiet and enjoying the Fun. The Licencing Hours for a Restaurant is till 1.30am, which should be Scrapped and made 24 hours optional. Why should the administration of the City who is supposed to Serve the Citizens, dictate and stop a business from being. BOMBAY NEEDS A 24 HOURS BUSINESS SYSTEM RIGHT FROM OFFICES TO RESTAURANTS, PUBS TO DISCOS, WHOEVER WANTS TO SPENT MONEY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT HAS THE RIGHT TO DO SO. THE POLICE IS THEIR TO SERVE THE PEOPLE AND PROTECT THEM IN EVERY SITUATION, THEY ARE NOT BEEN GIVEN SALARIES TO JUDGE OR TO THINK WHAT IS ETHICAL OR MORAL. The Bombay Police is taking advantage of this Loophole by the Excise and the BMC, and take money from vendors and hawkers. Ladies Beer Bars closed down, hence they are desperate, and the eateries don’t give them what they want, hence this nonsense. KINDLY START A FORUM FOR 24 HOURS LICENSING SYSTEM IN BOMBAY AND OTHER CITIES, IT WILL EASE THE TRAFFIC AND CHAOS AND ALSO GIVE WAY FOR NIGHT BUSINESS HOURS WHICH IS A HIT IN UK AND US. WHEREIN THE RESULT IS POSITIVE, THE SAME HOUR DENSE TRAFFIC LOAD HAS EASED DOWN. 24 HOURS SYSTEM IS NEEDED IN BOMBAY, EXCISE AND BMC DEPT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAME.
It is unfair to target a person and make a mockery of that person. Are you not misusing the fundamental rights of freedom of expression given to you for being a reporter and indulge into maligning a public servant?
I fail to understand, how an esteemed organisation like the Times Group, could allow such things to go against the ethics of a press?
If there is no let up in such type of reporting, I shall presume that I was wrong to understand its hidden agenda and motive of the Times Group, I am sorry to blurt out and feel this way about it.
I am disappointed for being an avid reader of newspapers published under your organisation.
Though I signed the petition for repealing of unlike laws, I found after joining Mumbai Unity that this group has hidden agenda of self aggrandisement of publicity and a platform for business promotions by most of the members, including the administrators.
Since they found me deterrent to their hidden agenda under the garb of Mumbai Unity, they have expelled me from the membership, which they are not aware that their such acts will disunite themselves to only make a mockery of the said group.
This is to inform and alert others that they should not fall prey to such groups.
