The Weekend Guide
FILM
Supermen of Malegaon
There’s more than one superhero battling it out at the box-office this weekend, except unlike Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, the caped crusaders in Supermen of Malegaon don’t necessarily have any super powers. Faiza Khan’s excellent documentary follows a merry band of filmmakers in the Maharashtrian town of Malegaon as they work on their latest magnum opus. Despite the bumbling skills of the crew, Khan’s documentary does not mock; instead it’s a smartly-crafted and endearing ode to the love of movie-making, found sometimes in the most unexpected of places.
When: From Friday, June 29.
Where: At PVR Cinemas across the city.
