Sundance Cafe To Return In August
If you felt that Mumbai’s dining scene suffered a huge loss with the shuttering of Churchgate’s popular and pocket-friendly Sundance Cafe, which was replaced by the French fine dining restaurant Chez Vous in November 2010, we bear cheerful tidings. The owners of Two One Two Bar and Grill have acquired the rights to the Sundance brand from Sundance Cafe’s parent company DJB Enterprise. They will reopen Sundance Cafe, in its original location at the Eros cinema building, by the end of August. Ketan Kadam, one of the four partners at Two One Two, told us that the new Sundance will bear no resemblance to Ché Bar & Grill, the multi-cuisine diner that replaced Chez Vous in March this year and shuttered promptly after. “We decided to bring back Sundance Cafe because of its immense goodwill,” said Kadam. In its resurrected avatar, the all-day casual dining restaurant will boast a “subtle and warm wood and stone decor”, and serve a menu of burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs and steaks.
