ACP Dhoble Says He Wants To “Save” Us From Sin

Vasant Dhoble, the assistant commissioner of police and the man responsible for the recent crackdowns on our nightlife, has about 21,000 haters on a Facebook group that’s branded him “Oppressor of the Innocent”. However, he’s got the one fan that counts. According to this Mumbai Mirror report, home minister R. R. Patil is so pleased with his work that he’s expanded his jurisdiction to Thane. “We would not need to do moral policing,” Dhoble is quoted as saying, “if the youth understood good from bad. I’ve seen many people in trouble and have rescued them”. Dhoble, who appears to view himself as a saviour of the immoral, then goes on to say “I’ve seen how girls and boys are exploited in these places of entertainment. My aim is also to save them.”

Moral policing will stop when youth can tell good from bad [Mumbai Mirror]

@Nitin. You’re right. Actually, Mr. Dhoble shouldn’t stop at “late night events”. The MEDIA also cry out loud when girls get raped in parks and on trains, but do they HELP?? I salute Mr. Dhoble and do not deplore him, and hope he bans parks and trains too, when he has a little time off from saving girls from being raped in bars.

Bombay needs an elected mayor-no godfathers, no strongmen, etc. Let democracy be the means to decide societal mores. Let a thousand flowers bloom and send rubbish like dhobale back to his village!

    Keep it up Mr Dhoble

    WE NEED YOUR KINDA OFFICERS

Kick their ass & make them straight
or ask the system makers to give an option…
    (a real option …..)

Alas!! We are the same public & the MEDIA who cry out load if a girl gets raped or killed in late night events. Anybody has guts to protect the victim at that time? Please do not deplore police next time such incidence occurs. I fully sympathize Mr. Dhoble for getting dragged into controversy.
