Fashion Look Book: Freida Pinto at Cannes
This year, with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan rumoured to be giving Cannes a ditch, the red carpet belongs to fellow L’Oreal ambassadors Freida Pinto and Sonam Kapoor. Kapoor, who rocked a Jean Paul Gautier creation last year, will walk the last day of the film festival this year. In the meantime, Pinto, seen here in a beaded gown by Michael Angel, was one of the first stars to arrive at the opening ceremony, alongside Eva Longoria. While we love Pinto’s elegant up-do and make-up, the beaded candy pink gown is considerably less dramatic than we’d hoped from a young star known to usually nail big-ticket events. There’s something vaguely 1980s about the colour swirls on the beaded bodice and the peplum style gathering at the hip. What do you think? Does the slit provide enough of a teaser or is it all too fussy and aging for the 20-something ingenue?

Aishwarya Rai did not come due to baby or her weight. The dress on Freida looks bad.
Well I thik she is average. The whole” looks like maid” thing is a bit too far I think.
Despite how much people keep saying she’s not pretty because she looks like ‘a maid’ I love Frieda. I think she’s gorgeous. Pity about the dress though.
far from ageing the colours bright and blush are perfect for a young girl. i think an older person would look like they were trying too hard in these colours. moreover i feel what freida tries to do with every event is go against the norm and instead of wearing a big gown with never ending trains she keeps it contained. classic and a tad more modern.
