Le Club Musique Launches This Weekend

If the words “exclusivity” and “celebrity” rank high on your criteria of what constitutes a great evening out, then Le Club Musique might just be the thing you were looking for. Though it may have little to do with France, as its name implies, Le Club Musique is a music club. However it’s not a club in the venue sense of the term but one that is made up of registered members. In order to become a member, you need to fill a form and pay an annual fee that grants you access to six concerts a year (though they declined to announce the annual fee, a single event would work out to less than half of what Delhiites shelled out to see Lady Gaga). Conceptualised and run by artist Bina Aziz and actress/event manager Lucky Morani (whose company Cineyug Entertainment is one of the most well-known organisers of Bollywood stage and awards shows), each of Le Club Musique’s concerts come with dinner and access to an open bar as well as a chance to interact with the artist after the show, and an opportunity to celeb watch (thanks to Aziz and Morani’s close ties with the music and film worlds, the audience is likely to include some of their B’town buddies). The inaugural event will be a concert by playback and pop singer Sonu Nigam this Sunday, April 1, at the J. W. Marriott’s Grand Sangam ballroom. Even though they’re starting with a Bollywood concert, Aziz and Morani said that they will feature artists across all genres, from jazz, fusion and Sufi to pop and hip hop and even international acts. The venue however is likely to always be a five-star hotel banquet hall because they need a space large enough to not only accommodate stage, light and sound arrangements and a green room, but also tables and chairs in order to create “an ambience that’s somewhere between a lounge or a club,” said Morani who added that their target audience is businessmen looking for unique ways to entertain their clients.
