• Belgian patisserie Debailleul is selling Christmas gift hampers featuring a combination of raspberry tarts; tiramisu pastries; Christmas-themed chocolates; apple tarte tatins; and a Galloway pastry. • On Wednesday, December 14, Salt Water Café will host the seventh edition of its series of Swine Dining dinners. For this Christmas special, Gresham Fernandes, group executive chef of Impresario Entertainment and Hospitality (the company that owns Salt Water), will serve crispy Cajun pork; meatloaf; spicy tamarind pork; pork and white bean cassoulet; plum cake; and bacon ice cream. Bombay Baking Company, the bakery at the J. W. Marriott hotel, is selling Christmas goodies such as gingerbread; doughnuts; Yule logs; Dundee cakes; raspberry and almond cakes; plum puddings; marzipan; and Santa Claus-shaped chocolates. You can custom-make gift hampers with a combination of these products (the empty basket costs Rs375 plus taxes). • Colaba restaurant Indigo will serve a special Christmas eve dinner menu on Saturday, December 24, and a Christmas brunch buffet on Sunday, December 25. The dinner menu will include roast turkey with cranberry sauce; vegetarian lasagna; and Christmas pudding. At the buffet on Christmas day, they will serve maple-glazed ham; chilled prawns in saffron broth; barbecued pork ribs; fig and pecan tart; panna cotta; and Christmas pudding.     I agree with Hari, how about something that does not cost as much as the amount you can feed 100 people in, outside Mahim Darga!

    I browse through the Mumbai Boss site over the weekends, and I find most articles interesting. But i’ve noticed most of the restaurant reviews and now the Christmas special, all cater to expensive locales. The lowest Christmas dinner here is around Rs. 1,500.

    May I suggest a little more ground work? I’m sure people would love to read about what the hole-in-the-wall joints and the cheaper bakeries offer for Christmas.
