After months of speculation, the word is finally out—Lady Gaga will be performing in India in October, but in Noida, not in Mumbai, and tickets to her gig will cost you no less than Rs40,000. According to news reports, Lady Gaga will take the stage in the capital on Sunday, October 30, at the “after-party” to celebrate India’s first-ever Formula One race, which will be held at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida from Friday, October 28 (that being the date heavy metal heavyweights Metallica perform in Gurgaon). Lady Gaga will perform at the pop-up lounge created at the Jaypee Greens Golf and Spa Resort by Lap, the club owned by Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal. DJs Roger Sanchez and Edward Maya will also perform at the F1 after-parties, but tickets to see them will cost a relatively cheap Rs30,000 per head. Little monsters in Mumbai should not reach for the tissues just yet; “industry sources” suggest Gaga might visit the city to attend the premiere of Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One.
