Le Pain Quotidien Has Revamped Its Menu
LAUNCHES
• Belgian bakery and cafe chain Le Pain Quotidien has added new
dishes to the menu at its restaurant in Colaba. The new items include a red bean hummus tartine with spiced peppers, ricotta and spicy tahini; toasted Belgian ham and cheddar tartine with olive tapenade and basil pesto; grilled chilli and garlic prawns with roasted potatoes; roasted leek and lemon ravioli; and eggless desserts such as apple crumble and espresso tart. The restaurant has also launched a menu for kids, which includes organic penne with tomato sauce; macaroni and cheese; and crisp whole wheat flat bread with tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil. OPENINGS
• Venky’s Limited, a Pune-based company that is best known for its ready-to-eat, freezer-to-fryer chicken products, will open the second Mumbai outpost of its chain of fast food restaurants, Venky’s XPRS, in Bandra. The restaurant, which is slated to open by the end of September, has replaced Stomach restaurant’s Mughlai branch, off Waterfield Road. Here, like at their Andheri outpost, they will serve Venky’s chicken-based snacks such as burgers, kebab rolls and grilled chicken.
