Pali Village Cafe Revamps Its Menu

Pali Village Cafe has revamped its menu, with around 50 per cent of the list changed to include roasted duck salad; maguro and smoked salmon carpaccio; three-meat pizza (chicken, pork and lamb); saffron, champagne and seafood risotto; and mustard marinated pork ribs. The dessert offerings have also been expanded to include maple walnut pie, chocoate mud pie and a matcha (green tea) creme brulee. The Bandra restaurant has retained favourites like the watermelon and pickled feta salad, vanilla scented panna cotta and cajun dusted Norwegian salmon. Next to Janata Lunch Home, Pali Naka, Bandra (West). • Lower Parel gallery The Loft will celebrate its third anniversary today, August 1, by hosting an art and food event called “The Five Senses”, featuring the drawings of Kolkata-based artist Sukanya Ghosh and French artist Agathe de Bailliencourt, and a “food installation” by French restaurant Chez Vous. The food—ravioles de roquefort (cheese and hazelnut ravioli), l’aumonières de poulet (pouches of chicken), and la tarte au fruit (fruit tart) among other dishes—can be tasted after. Frangipani, the all-day dining cafe at The Trident, will serve a buffet of Mediterranean specialities from Greece, Lebanon, Egypt, Israel and Morocco until Sunday, August 14. The menu includes lamb tagine, spinach fatayer, sweet pepper and lemon filled baked fish, lamb kibbeh, and shawarmas.     Had the “braised tofu” this weekend – totally disappointing. Despite telling them I wanted it well done, the tofu was not even partly braised – its was barely warmed, without a hint of having been near a grill.

    Restaurant basics: at least deliver on what your menu indicates the dish will be.
