The Purple Foodie Bake Sale
• Mumbai-based food blogger Shaheen Peerbhai is holding a day-long bake sale this week. Peerbhai posts a recipe a week on her popular blog The Purple Foodie, and many of the treats seen on the site will be available for purchase at the sale. They include Nutella pinwheel cookies (see image), chocolate cinnamon babkas, chocolate mud cakes, double chocolate chip muffins, lavender shortbread, and vanilla bean and cream poundcake. • The Bombay Baking Company at the JW Marriott is selling Christmas treats, including ginger bread, doughnuts, cookies and cakes until the end of month. They will also cater on order traditional Christmas preparations like roast turkey, roast duck, honey-baked ham, oven-roasted rack of lamb, and crab and pumpkin soup. • For Christmas, The Gourmet Shoppe at The Oberoi is offering stollen, gingerbread cookies, Yule logs, chocolate pralines, candied orange, Irish plum pudding, honey glazed ham, marzipan, minced pie and cinnamon tarts. • The Four Seasons Hotel will host a Christmas day brunch at both Cafe Prato and The Verandah. The spread will include roast turkey, Brittany oysters, foie gras, herb-crusted pork, and unlimited Louis Roederer champagne. For kids, they’ve organised a Santa and elves party. • Indigo Deli has a special menu of hors d’oeuvres that you can order a day in advance to cater a party this month. You can choose from bacon and leek tartlets, cheddar quiches, onion chutney paneer tikka, roasted garlic and cream cheese mousse and pulled pork crostini. They’ve also introduced a special pies and quiches take-away menu, which includes three-cheese and pecan pie, Stilton and walnut pie, blue cheese and onion quiche, roasted pumpkin and toffee pie, and lavender and lime cheesecake.
