MB Recommends: Posters by Design Temple
Tired of seeing Al Pacino in Scarface stare out from your wall? Then ditch the usual poster cliches and pick up Design Temple’s playful series of pop-coloured posters called the A-Z of Indian Cool. The acclaimed design studio has reinvented much loved Indian tropes, illustrating them for modern day sensibilities. For instance, a roti chart demonstrates how to roll the perfect roti in step-by-step illustrations. One on manure highlights its benefits as a mineral rich fuel. Other subjects include zenana (the section of the home reserved for women in Muslim households), the five K’s of the Sikhs, and a diagram of a washing machine they call Dhobi. Our favourite (see image) features a nifty guide to the various turbans of India.
Each poster in the A-Z of Indian Cool series is priced at Rs1,000 exclusive of tax. All posters are 26×36 inches. Available at Gallery BMB and at designtemplestore.com.
