Bonobo Re-Opens; Taj President To Be Renamed

• Bandra’s popular restaurant and watering hole Bonobo is back in business. After running into trouble with housing society residents for generating noise and traffic, Bonobo has acquired the necessary permits and licenses. [Hindustan Times]
• The Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association has proposed scrapping an archaic law that requires all restaurants in Mumbai to display assigned numeric grades as per the Bombay Shops and Establishments Act of 1948, which grades them on factors like hygiene, air-conditioning, seating and rest rooms. According to the IHRA, the law is irrelevant and only adhered to by a small number of old restaurants and Irani cafés. [Mid Day]
• A US-based chocolate company is planning to launch bhang chocolate and has sought a trademark for the name. If granted, the word bhang could be barred for use for a chocolate or candy product by anyone else. [Hindustan Times]
• Taj President will soon be re-christened Vivanta by Taj – President. Vivanta is a new premium brand within the Taj group of hotels. The company already operates four Vivanta hotels in Goa, Bangalore, Kerala and the Maldives. Taj President will also undergo a makeover in the next few months to bring it on par with other upscale Vivanta properties.
