Rani Mukerji Revamped

The July-August issue of L’Officiel has pint-sized star Rani Mukerji ditching her cutesy image for a, erm, sexier look. Dressed in satin Dolce & Gabbana with long tousled hair, kohl-rimmed eyes and a weird, vaguely hooker-ish, black-lace glove, Mukerji’s look on the cover of the fashion mag is a departure from her usual sedate, sari clad look. The 12-page spread has her in short black dresses and plunging neck gowns. While we’re all for reinventions, we actually prefer the cotton-salwar wearing Rani from before. What do you think of her new look?

I pity her. Its a result of media pressure. She considered doing something “different”. But its so not her. Not tht I know her – but this is simply strange.
From a fashion point of view, it’s bland. There’s nothing exciting. Old fashion (Such an unfortunate color, D&G. Especially in that lighting.), tired make-up (I mean, can we get past the kohl smothered eyes yet?), and bare skin.
It’s boring and it’s a shame because she totally could’ve rocked out something from the haute couture ramps.
